TCS interview experience:

I have completed my B.Tech from Bundelkhand Institute of Engineering and Technology,Jhansi(U.P.) which is a well recognized govt. college of GBTU(Formerly UPTU) which is ranked 3 among all the colleges after HBTI Kanpur and IET Lucknow.
So we have appeared in TCS during September 2012
first we have to go through written test which was consisting of 35 question. we have prepared for TCS very well so all questions were familiar to us and 34 of 35 questions were correctly answered by most of us and all the questions were having different weightage.

Interview of my friends was just a formality so i was also expecting the same with me but it was not....
He asked some questions from me-
1. Introduce yourself. Be prepared for this question very well.everyone gonna ask you this.
My area of interest were data structures and Operating system so he asked all questions from them.
2. What is virtual memory.
3. Paging
4. Demand paging.
5. How cache increases speed of the system.
6. WAP in C to implement all the operation on Linkedlist like inserting a node in the end,start,middle,deleting a node,display,counting the node etc.
7. WAP in C for swapping 3 numbers.
8. Print Fibonacci sequence.
9. Factorial of a no. using recursion.
After that he asked me to tell a joke and asked what i used to do on weekend and I got very less marks in my 4th semester as compared to other semesters so he asked me why?
He also asked me "You don't think that you should be the topper of your class"
My hobbies were playing computer games and playing Chess.So he asked that which game you play and in which language the code of that particular game is written etc.
I was not expecting this much in TCS interview but i was well prepared so I answered all of them and got selected for the next round(HR Interview)
HR Interview:
HR was an old guy he asked questions about my introduction, family, my strength, weakness, hobbies, relocation etc like what you learn from chess,tell me a situation when you showed ur strength,what are you doing to remove ur weakness etc..........:)
finally result announced after 2 days and 63 students have been selected and i was among those 63.After that Adobe Systems visited my campus and recruited 3 students from my institute...package was very sexy and i got placed in Adobe Systems and currently working there......Wish u all the very best......:)

Adobe Interview Questions(For the post of Software Engineer):

Written Test was of 90 minutes which was consisting of 15 Reasoning questions,30 Aptitude questions, 15 objective questions of C and 5 subjective questions of C.

Subjective questions from adobe written test-

1. Perform multiplication of two 2*2 matrix and print the result.

2. Print sequence of diff no using rand() function

3. Print this sequence

4.Convert binary no. to decimal.

Technical round

they have selected only 13 students out of 60 and I was among them after that 4 interview round(3 Technical+1 HR).

I remembered some questions which were asked during interview from me and my friends which may help you people in the preparation of Adobe interview.

1.Reverse array element without using second array and no built in function should be used.

2.Factorial program

3.Fibonacci sequence

4.Swapping without using third variable

5.What is virtual memory?

6.Where is virtual memory in our system? Can u increase virtual memory? Real time example.

7.Where all type of data structures are used?

8.Which data structure is most appropriate for storing phone address book?

9.Test cases of Pencil, Pen, Door, Stapler, CD.

10.There are 3 bulb in room and three switches corresponding to the bulb outside teh room.
You are allowed to go once outside the room . You to find which switch belongs to which bulb .How will you do that?

11.1 jan 2003 is Monday In which year again 1st jan will be Monday?

12.There are 7 red shocks ,8 green shocks, 10 white shocks and 12 blacks in a basket. Minimum how many shocks will you take out in one attempt to ensure that there is at least pairs of each color.

13.What will be the angle between hour needle and minute needle when the time is 3:15pm in the ordinary clock?

14.Reversal of linked list.

15.Sorting of linked list.(Try doing it by sorting the link not the data.)

16.They have asked almost 15-20 puzzles from me and puzzles have been asked in each round of the technical interview....but puzzle solving was my hobby so i didn't find any difficulty in solving them and most of them were known to me.

And finally in the evening result was announced I was among those 3 students who has been selected for the post of Software engineering.

and the best thing was that I got my dream job on my B'day.....i was feeling awesome and got the best b'day gift by God.
